Terms and Conditions

Welcome to Data with Sam! By enrolling in or participating in any course, you agree to the following Terms and Conditions:

1. Community Standards

Data with Sam is committed to maintaining a respectful and inclusive learning environment.
  • Discrimination, racism, harassment, hate speech, or disruptive behavior of any kind will not be tolerated.
  • Students who violate these standards may be removed from class forums, discussion boards, or other community spaces without prior notice or refund.
  • We encourage open and supportive dialogue that respects all participants.

2. Use of AI Tools and Transcriptions

Students are permitted to use AI-powered transcription or note-taking tools during lectures and online sessions. Data with Sam instructors and administrators cannot control, monitor, or restrict the use of such tools, and we accept no liability for how they are used. Students are expected to respect intellectual property and privacy when using these tools.

3. Platforms and Personal Information

Data with Sam courses are delivered using third-party platforms, including but not limited to: 

  • LearnWorlds (course platform)
  • Zoom (live sessions)
  • Other integrated tools to enhance course delivery


Your personal information is collected and used only for the purpose of course administration and delivery. We do not sell or share your personal information with any third-party organizations, except for the service providers necessary to deliver the course (e.g., LearnWorlds, Zoom)

4. Recordings and Use for Class Materials

Some live sessions may be recorded for the benefit of current and future students. These recordings may be shared within the learning platform or other course materials.

  • If you prefer not to have your image and/or voice included in recordings, every effort will be made to respect your preference.
  • To request this, please contact sam@datawithsam.com before or during the course.

Shared recordings will have your image, name, and voice redacted as applicable on request. (Clarified September 22, 2025)

Recordings by anyone other than the course instructor or school staff is not permitted. (Added September 22, 2025)

5. Live Session Scheduling & Rescheduling

Live sessions are scheduled in advance and every effort will be made to deliver them as advertised. However, the instructor reserves the right to reschedule or modify live sessions in the event of illness, emergency, or other unforeseen circumstances beyond reasonable control.

If a live session must be rescheduled or canceled, participants will be notified as soon as reasonably possible, and one of the following will be provided at the instructor’s discretion:
  • A rescheduled live session at a later date,
  • A recorded version of the session, or
  • Alternative instructional materials covering the same content.

Such changes do not constitute a breach of these Terms and do not entitle participants to refunds or credits, provided that reasonable efforts are made to deliver the instructional content. (added Dec 20, 2025)

6. Refund Policy

Refunds will only be considered within 30 days of purchase. After this period, no refunds will be issued. To request a refund, please contact sam@datawithsam.com. Refund requests are reviewed on a case-by-case basis and are subject to confirmation of eligibility.

7. Limitation of Liability

We do our best to make sure our courses are accurate, useful, and enjoyable. However, by participating you agree that Data with Sam and Springtail Consulting Services Inc. are not responsible for any decisions you make, or results you achieve, based on what you learn in our courses.

We provide education, not professional, financial, legal, or medical advice. Any tools, templates, or examples are for learning purposes only. Our liability is limited to the amount you paid for the course.

8. Intellectual Property

Data with Sam is a brand of Springtail Consulting Services Inc., registered in the Province of British Columbia, Canada. All course content, materials, and intellectual property are owned or licensed by Springtail Consulting Services Inc. and are provided to students for personal educational use only.

9. Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms and Conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the Law of British Columbia, Canada.

10. Modifications to Terms

We may update these Terms and Conditions from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page, and continued participation in the course after changes are posted will constitute acceptance of the revised terms.
